This week, the tower base was encased in concrete, and is settling in nicely! The tower base and the triangle tower section was scrubbed with vinegar (to etch the metal, for better paint adhesion) and then painted to protect the metal. During the concrete pour, the base had shifted! Stu was prepared with levels, and needed to use a tow-strap to his truck to tug it back upright before the concrete cured. We did get a few photos, a gallery will be posted soon! Meanwhile, the repeater itself has been “burning in” nicely at Andy’s shack, making sure that it will be ready to run at the shack, unattended, once we get the tower and antenna up. Thank you to all, for your efforts, and your donations (from food, to labor and concrete, and for the cost to get the concrete in the hole!
More efforts on the new repeater!
